#100Christian Hip Hop Tracks that nurtured me

D-Maub So professional

My Thoughts & the Lyrics
This marks the start of a series of 100 posts where I will talk about 100 Christian Rap tracks that nurtured me in my walk and growth in Christ. If you are a Christian Rap fan you'll love these tracks. They are not ordered according to how good they are but as chronological as possible according to when I first heard the track and not necessarily when it was released. Well here is #1.
Inside out Christian Rap

I've heard him referred to as "Mr So Professional", and that who he is to me! So professional is a track off his album "Inside Out". This is the first Christian Rap track that I could sing word for word, bar for bar. I was a baby in my walk in Christ when I got introduced to D-Maub's music. Firstly it was through this song and later on the Solus Christus compilation. The lyrical content spoke to me personally, and to further captivate me was his lyrical prowess and word-play. This shattered the myth that Christian Rap was substandard when compared to secular Rap. I've gone on to get other D-Maub songs and features prior to and post "So professional", but this particular one still holds a special place in my heart. Let's go through the lyrics:

Intro:

Wark it like a pro...Wark it wark it like a pro (hey)
Wark it like a pro...Wark it wark it like a pro (hey)
Wark it like a pro...Wark it wark it like a pro (hey)
Wark it like a pro...Wark it wark it like a pro (hey)

Hook:
When it's time to put it down Ima wark it like a pro
Got ma feet on solid ground so I wark it like a pro
When I run up in ya town Ima work it like a pro
Ima work it like a pro
Wark it wark it like a pro

Verse 1:
Bottom line my ministry is my life so passionate
You can tell from the chemistry when Iiiiiiii WRite
I'm serious about this business spin to my slumber
Cover the north East of the hemisphere
Now that's a lot of rapping
But look around you dont need to travel to Phoenix to see's been a lot of shacking
Has been a lot of crapping, the body
Hollywood, come to church if you wanna see a lot of acting
Some people come for a show
So when I hit the building, I make sure I worship soon as I come through the door
My spirit tell em yes, even when you come with the NO!
I know you want the truth
You are lucky it come with the flow
It's eaaaasy, to do my work when I'm on top of ma game
Even when I'm faced with advesities I will not complain
This thing, Tryna get challenging messing with ma brain
But see, I sta-sta-sta stay on target with my aim
Can't get discouraged I push right until something happen
Someone is rapping but no lives is changing
Hey sumin is lacking
I work my ministry, y'all just talking lots with no action
Sleep from no subtraction brother can keep on tracking

Verse 2:
Heiii
Why you gonna try and play me like a roockie
When I'm a pro, Know how I know?
Cause he aint overlook me
The world overtook me, now he just take me over
I told ya, I'm proof he knows how to create a soldier
You see my  armour homey?
I know you don't...It ain't physical
But please believe that don't mean I aint got armour on me
You know...you know...my God is ...my God is...omni...omni ..present...present
Always...always with me...with me I'm far from lonely
So I got no worries when I'm out here
And I learned that everyone who doubts fear
In some sort of ways he some sort of played with fire (ah-ah)
Gotta holla at the auntaay
I'm tired of looking at the choir (ah-ah)
I do what I do just to inspire (ah-ah)
It would be real nice if in Christ you go higher (ah-ah)
So even when it come down to the wire (ah-ah)
You keep your grip on life like pliers

Hook:

Verse 3:
Ah so professional, serve the one who is incredible
Anything else is unacceptable, Rather be a vegetable
Go bring light from where you came some are sceptical
But somebody gotta go over the bridge and breakdown the parables
Sometime I think like, this mission is so unbearable
After I'm reminded who's in me that thought become hysterical
So then I'm confident to go out in a world that's terrible
And help you not focus on the perishable

Hook:
When it's time to put it down Ima wark it like a pro
Got ma feet on solid ground so I wark it like a pro
When I run up in ya town Ima work it like a pro
