February 2013 Prayer Points

February 2013 Prayer Points

Shalom to the body of the risen King, from a servant and fellow member of the body. I am eternally humbled to have the opportunity to serve you, and to serve with you as we further the gospel and develop a culture of prayer. A story is often told of a builder who was working at Smith Wigglesworth's home a couple of decades ago. This builder was heard to be cursing often, and taking the Lord's name in vain. To which Wigglesworth called him inside and offered him £100 if he would not use the name of God again. The builder took the money and promised never to use the name of God again. This was at a time when man's word was still worth a lot. When he got home he found that his child had taken ill, but he could not pray for him because of the promise he had made to Wigglesworth. After a while the child got worse and the man became desperate. He went back to Wigglesworth and returned the money, he learnt the biggest lesson any man can learn. The name of the Lord is a strong tower... Don’t let anyone take you away from that tower.

Let us pray

Lord we glorify your name right now. We acknowledge that your name is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and are made safe. We thank you for clothing us in the righteous name of your Son. We run to you father, make us safe. Safe from the cares of this world. Safe from all principalities that lurk in the atmosphere seeking souls to devour. We thank you for we know your word is truth and we are safe. Lead us as we seek you, and further your kingdom in prayer. Decrease us that you alone may increase mighty God.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ we pray.

Amen
